Description
The 70-foot Desert View Watchtower overlooks the south rim of Grand Canyon National Park. Constructed in 1932 based on designs architect Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter, the tower design was influenced by the architecture of the Puebloan people of the Colorado Plateau. Today the tower includes a gift store and observation decks to enjoy magnificent views of the canyon and the Painted Desert.
