Located in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Lower Manhattan, New York City is an open space park dominated by the landmark Washington Square Arch and a large fountain. To celebrate the centennial of George Washington’s inauguration as president of the United States, a marble arch was erected and modeled after the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
