Description
Once filled with Route 66 travelers, when Winslow, AZ was by-passed by interstate I-40, the town stood frozen in time—until the Eagles rock band recorded a hit song that included the lyric "Well, I'm a standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona and such a fine sight to see. It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford slowin' down to take a look at me." Today the corner park includes a bronze statue with a painted mural depicting the lyrics of the song.
